Weekly Scriptures

Fasting, praying and reading the Word.  Fasting and Praying is a necessary part of the Christian Faith.

Mother Hamilton prays for the weekly scriptures and receives them from God in various different ways.  It may be from a current service topic, something that someone is going through, an experience, or directly through prayers.  However she receives the scriptures, she makes them available to everyone, both members and guests every Sunday.

Selina Samuel assists Mother Hamilton in the Fasting and Prayer ministry and blesses us each week by sending out the scriptures and a word of encouragement. Subscribe to our posts so you won't miss out.

Stay blessed

Mark 5:24-43

Word of Encouragement
"Tell Him where it hurts;  when you go to the doctors they do not attempt to give you a diagnosis before you give an accurate description of how you feel, how it happened, the symptoms you've been having and how long for.  When looking at a wound or a place that has been broken the doctors usually press around and ask you "where does it hurt"?  Now at this point you gotta be honest because to treat it he's got to know how bad it hurts and the exact location of the pain.  Some people call him a doctor in a sick room, the great healer, the binder of my wounds, the easer of my pain but you gotta tell him where it hurts; tell him your mind is breaking, tell him your heart is wounded, tell him your family is in pain, tell him your relationships are sore, tell him where it hurts.  He's never misdiagnosed, never given the wrong prescription , never made a wrong incision, never had a patient die on him, he won't expose your wounds to more pain for he knows how to clean them and bind them.  He is the balm that soothes them.  But you've got to tell him where it hurts, yes I know he knows it but it is your faith that heals you and makes you whole.  By identifying it and then booking an appointment in his presence.  You believe that what it is you're suffering from he has the ability to make it better - if it's your spirit say it's your spirit, if it's your mind, tell him it's your mind, if it's your heart your emotions your confidence your relationship with him your perceptions dreams, faith, whatever it is tell him all about it.  There's a prescription for your area of hurt and He wants to heal you and make you whole - tell him where it hurts".

Deuteronomy 8:1-14

Isaiah 41:9-21

Word of Encouragement
Excuse me Sir/Madame, I'm aware that you were sentenced to death row, you've been here for quite a while now, you've made this prison dorm a home, playing over your past mistakes and sins on a broken record but... you have a visitor, when He came in He knew you by name and prison number, He's convinced that He's gotta see you... we offered to get Him a paramedic because He's got blood flowing from His hands and His feet and what looks like a spear wound in His side.  His forehead is covered in blood but He assured us that He had not been attacked per say, in fact He reckons that He did it to get your bail money, He's paid it once and for all He said.  I may be mistaken but I think His name is Jesus Christ.  Anyway, He told me to open your cell because you're free to go, and your bail has been paid and your sentence has been dropped.  He said not to worry about what you lost while you were inside because He came to give you your life back and life in its fullest form.  He also wants to show you His wounds so you never forget how much He loves you and the price He paid to get you out and to keep you out.

Week commencing 8th April 2013

Scriptures
2 kings 8:1-6
Isaiah 49:8-18
Zechariah 3:1-10
Zechariah 9:9-13

Word of Encouragement
"When a slave or a prisoner escapes they usually plan a route out, not everyone goes at once usually one or two go ahead to make sure that freedom is possible whilst the others wait in hope, hope that they return for them because they made a pact that if they got out they'd all go together! But what happens if the two that went ahead found freedom, but for fear of facing their past again they ran and never looked back? They are free yes but what about those they left behind? To face our past and to release our testimony is a big thing and sometimes we don't share it because we are so ashamed, we cover the scars with make up and the stench with after shave, whilst people are crying out for an escape route we sometimes pretend we were always free and whole, happy and blessed. But there's a key in your testimony to unlock the captives and set them free, don't be ashamed of the scars they have power to release somebody when you are who you are just by the grace of God. Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life, it's bigger than us, it's what Jesus did for us and his scars will forever echo what our scars confirm, he has the power to release heal and restore, go tell those inmates and fellow slaves how you got out, they wanna be free!"

Fasting Focus : Release And Restore

posted 8 Apr 2013 03:48 by The New Generation Church Nottingham

Week commencing 1st April 2013

Scriptures
Ezekiel 37:1-14
Mark 5:1-15
Luke 13: 10-17
Romans 7:1-6

Word of Encouragement
"A lot of people have experienced great loss of possessions through disaster, house fires, robberies and other mishaps. In these cases there are always a few who have peace of mind because there is a policy with insurance companies that states that if you were to lose your stuff, they would replace them for new ones, that you'd get all your stuff back because you're covered! Like Job you may be able to relate, the enemy may have robbed your mind, your peace, your love, your worship, your friends, your children, your job, your dreams. Life may have burnt out your hope and desire to move forward, your passion to be free and your sense of wholeness and security...but fear not, if you're stood in a pile of debris of what used to be or what you used to have, and all you have left is God then you have all you need because he can restore it all - You're covered!"

Mark 5:1-15 Luke
13: 10-17
Romans 7:1-6

Words of encouragement

"Tied hands can't untie hands... in those action thrillers the people who are on a mission to stop or change something, there's often a moment when they are captured and temporarily tied up. The enemies know that if they tie both of them up there's no way they can get out because tied hands can't untie hands. There's only so long though that they wait before one and it only takes one to decide I'm not gonna sit here and die, I'm gonna shake myself loose.

They begin to mess with the device used to tie them up and before you know it no sooner as they release themselves do they release their partner! Our freedom, our healing, our restoration and life change is bigger than us, we ought to get free cause somebody's life or salvation may very well depend on it! Your family, children, ministry, career, friendship group may be waiting on your release for their freedom because when you are released you can release what God placed in you. In order to release those God will send our way we gotta make sure our hands are free!"

Deuteronomy 8:1-14
Deuteronomy 28:1-14
Isaiah 41:9-21

Word of Encouragement
What If I said woman or man 'thou art loosed'? What if I told you that after all those years of being in the same position, being stuck and bowed over, being only able to perceive your current situation week after week and year after year that you were now free? That you could stand with your head high and worship being fully loosed from your infirmity? What if you knew that from the moment you accepted the life, death, resurrection and love of Jesus you had permission to walk out of everything that had a hold on you and ruled over you? What if I told you that you could take the chains from around your neck that you have been burdened with from your past present and future because the padlocks had already been unlocked? Don't take my word for it take God's, for you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
