Harvester

Ministry Leaders - Ann-Marie Jones & Esther Hamilton

"For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you. You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land".  Deuteronomy 15:11.

Firstly we would like to thank everyone that has been giving so generously to the Harvesting Ministry.

We are grateful for everyone’s donations and have managed to hand out 15 food parcels over Christmas to families who were very grateful and would like us to pass on their thanks to the church.

We collect donations once a month, on the first Sunday of each month, but we are still asking that people bring in items every week or whenever possible. We are also asking that any items that are brought are new and if they are food items that it is well within the sell by or use by dates.

Our mission is to help people who have fallen on hard times: we offer help to the elderly, the young, single people and low-income families.

This ministry is motivated by the love of God, with the message about helping others taken directly from the bible.

We have great plans for the future, such as having a day when the church will be open so that we can feed the hungry and also we are hoping in the near future to purchase a van to deliver parcels to peoples homes and to shelters and residential homes.

We are asking that if you know of anyone that is in need please speak to anyone on the team so that we can help make a difference in someone’s life.

The Harvesters ministry also help to support operation Christmas child, which is run by the Samaritans purse international relief, which involves filling shoe boxes with toys and gifts and is then distributed to children and families across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.  This has been a success and is something we will continue to do.

If you would like to join this ministry you are free to do so and can speak to anyone who is part of the team as we are always looking for more volunteers and helpers who have a desire to reach people that are less fortunate.

We also welcome any ideas that you may have in helping us to improve this mission.
