Good Friday Baptism 2012

posted 21 Apr 2012 15:30 by The New Generation Church Nottingham   [ updated 21 Apr 2012 16:33 ]

NGC’s first baptism of 2012 took place on Good Friday and it was evident from the numbers in attendance that God is doing truly an awesome work.  We welcomed nine candidates into the kingdom and into the New Generation Church to begin their walk with God. The candidates shared their testimonies all coming from their different walks of life and told how this day would represent a new start in their lives.
All that were blessed enough to come and witness this day would agree that it was a true celebration and joyous occasion.  At NGC our doors are always open to all to join our celebrations and this day was no exception.  The numbers were so great that the building reached its maximum capacity and we were not able to accommodate all that would have liked to be a part.  Nevertheless we are praying and trusting that God will surely make a way for us to build on his house and increase the space so that we can accommodate many more and bring even more souls to the Lord!
NGCs newest sisters, Sophia, Vivienne, Jackie, Leah, Krystal, Lamara, Ropa and Deborah have joined the family.  We hold them up in prayer and look forward to the great journey that is ahead of them and the blessings that God has in store.  NGC’s next baptism will be held during our conference in August 2012 and by faith we will be welcoming even more into the Kingdom!

NGC Conference 2011

posted 13 Aug 2011 11:01 by The New Generation Church Nottingham   [ updated 13 Aug 2011 12:16 ]

So with less than a week left before conference, I am here to give you an insight into what’s happening here at NGC.  We are about to go into our annual Conference.  This year we are celebrating FIVE years of NGC and FIFTY years of NTA. I can assure you, you are in for a refreshing, exciting, few days if you join us. Maybe some of you are thinking, ‘What is this conference all about?’ And ‘why should I bother?’  Well let me tell you now, if you don’t come, you’re sure to be missing out. I’ve asked a few of the young people some questions, which will inspire you to come and see for yourself just how amazing our God is here at NGC and experience Him for yourself.

Firstly, I am blessed to be joined by one of our brothers, who is truly blessed and a real blessing those who know him.  Troy’s story…

My name is Troy Mclean, I am 17 years old, I am a young preacher here at NGC, I am the sign team spokesman, I help on the ushering team and I am a sound engineer. I’ve been attending NGC for 3 years now J

Wow, so you’re very involved in the church, and I’m guessing you have been to a few of their annual conferences?

Yea.

So tell me, what exactly is conference all about?

It’s a time of celebration and rejoicing for all that God has done for us in the previous year and also a great opportunity for Evangelism.

Sounds okay, but what if I don’t go to Church and I don’t really believe in God, then why should I give up my weekend to attend the Conference?

It’s an opportunity that only comes around once a year, it’s not going to cost you anything but it could end up gaining you everything J.

So what should I expect from it?

The plain and simple truth.

From your past experience what is your favourite thing about the Conference?

“When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me”

Thanks Troy J God bless you.

Don’t you think that sounds good? I definitely know where I want to be next weekend! Let me tell you a little more about what’s happening at NGC conference this year, before we hear from another one of our young people. This year it’s BACK, it’s BIGGER and BETTER, celebrating 5 years of the New Generation Church, still growing and standing strong, we have our annual 3 day Conference.

FRIDAY 19th AUGUST 2011, 6:30pm-9:30pm.

We have our BAPTISM service, our speaker for the night is our very own EVANGELIST CLEVE DAWSON – a dynamic international Evangelist and Singer Songwriter who is also a dedicated member of the NGC Praise and Worship team.

Enjoy a night of celebration as candidates take their first steps in FAITH and share their TESTIMONIES of what God has done in their lives and make a stand for Christ as they acknowledge HIM as the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.  Come and join in our celebration service as these candidates begin a new journey with Christ. I’m sure as you hear their testimonies you will be ENCOURAGED and truly BLESSED.

We also have our PRAISE and WORSHIP team who will be leading an atmosphere for Praise and Worship.  Be blessed by our  Sign Team, SIGNS FROM ABOVE who will be ministering to us through music and the British Sign Language.

Members will be sharing their testimonies and encouraging us through their individual ITEMS. A jam-packed night of celebrating, praising and worshipping the Lord for who He is and all He has done for us.

SATURDAY 20th AUGUST 2011, 6:30pm-9:30pm.

We are excited to have with us a GUEST SPEAKER for the evening, REV DR JOEL THOMAS, the Senior Pastor of the Deliverance Centre for the past 20 years.  He travels internationally preaching the Gospel.  Listen as he shares a message with use on the theme ‘STANDARD OF A CHAMPION’.   He is sure to bring an empowering word from the Lord.

Enjoy another evening of Praise and Worship with the Praise Team and Signs from Above.  Members will also share their individual items to empower and encourage.

SUNDAY 21st AUGUST 2011, 1:00pm-3:30pm.

Join us for our final day of the Conference where we will be blessed to have our PRAISE and WORSHIP team, individual ITEMS  and SIGNS FROM ABOVE ministering to you.  Then the message on ‘STANDARD OF A CHAMPION.’ will be delivered by our very own Host Pastor and Co-founder of New Generation Church, PASTOR SEAN SAMUEL.

The only thing left to say is, “our Conference is completely FREE of charge. We WELCOME you and would LOVE to have YOU come and JOIN in our CELEBRATIONS…”

So for those of you who still aren’t quite convinced, or if you just want to be even more inspired and find out even more, let me introduce to you one of my very special sisters, this girl is well and truly anointed and God has really manifested in her in such a special way.  So, firstly I asked her to tell us a little about herself…

My name is Selina Samuel, mostly known as Beana and I’m 18 years old. I am a passionate member of Signs from Above, a technical member of the projector team and a solid member of New Generation Church.  When NGC was born, I was there, watching in amazement and I’m so proud to have watched it grow up until today, in its 5th year J.

What is conference all about?

This year, conference is about living a Standard of a Champion, in your character, in your heart and in your walk with God. Often there are times when Christians, because of their circumstances feel like victims, because of their past, because they have been victims of other peoples mistakes, or past hurts, they then start to live in a mindset of a victim, but God is saying now He wants Christians to live at the Standard Of a Champion.  How He created us to be, to be strong in our minds, to be strong in our hearts, to overcome everything and to know that it is possible to still be a champion despite everything you’ve been through so far because it’s in your blood to be a champion.

Sounds interesting, but what if I don’t go to Church and I don’t really believe in God, then why should I give up my weekend to attend the conference?

Even if you’re not a Christian you can still be a better person, you can still be a champion.  It’s going to be a time where God will give you the power back into your life to be the champion that he created you to be.  To know that you don’t have to be the victim of life’s circumstances anymore but you can overcome them even if you’re not a Christian.  When you come you can expect that you’re not just going to be preached at, you’re not going to be condemned but people are there to empower you to give you back the life that God meant for you to have in the first place.

So what should I expect from it?

You should expect a lot of excitement because it’s an exciting time for everyone. The baptisms are going to be amazing. You should expect to see the world in a completely different way. You should expect that when you come you won’t leave the same, because something in your mind will be changed and something in your heart will be changed. Sometimes people just need an encouragement in their life, knowing that they can keep going and that they can be a champion. You can come broken and leave as a victor, a champion.

From your past experience what is your favourite thing about conference?

My favourite part has to be the Saturday night of Conference. It’s just packed full of people, the music is just amazing, the worship is amazing, the food (she laughs) I have to say, is amazing. It’s just a time where everyone ‘goes all out’. It’s a time of true worship, everyone really just gives their all and peoples’ lives are really changed.  Everyone lets go and the limits are taken off and God does things that you would never expect.

Wow, sounds incredible!! So in closing, have you got any last few words that you could say to convince someone to come along?

You will never be the same!

Wow, that’s big, and so very true, if you come with an open heart, I can back Sister Selina up on this and say you will never be the same!

Brother Troy and Sister Selina are two of our young people here at NGC, and what a blessing they are. I want to take this time to Thank you both, for your time and your willingness to share with us and give us insight into what’s happening at NGC.

God bless you both.

Now I hope I have convinced you that NGC is the place to be on Friday 19th, Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August 2011. There is so much happening and it’s definitely not an event to be missed! So please come along and join us in our annual conference as we celebrate 5 years of NGC and 50 years of NTA.

May God truly bless you and keep you and lead you to the place of worship where He is waiting for you.

NGC Baptism Pool

posted 13 Aug 2011 08:29 by The New Generation Church Nottingham   [ updated 13 Aug 2011 09:33 ]

Our long awaited baptismal pool is finally completed! After several years of hiring out churches to cater to our baptism needs, by the grace of God, much fundraising and generous donations, we were able to start the work on the pool.  It is now completed and our first NGC home baptism will take place on the 19th August 2011 as the opening of our conference.

The work started on the 25th July and was completed by 6th August (which has to be said was no mean feat).  Timescales were tight and the pressure was on, but God delivered. He may not work with our timing but he is always on time!

Despite the mild disruption, in true NGC style we continued with our worship in the original Church Hall.  NGC members came together to work in clearing out and cleaning the Sanctuary in preparation for service with our new pool in tact.

We give huge thanks and recognition for the planning and building of the Baptismal Pool to Don Lowther and his team, who humbly dedicated his time, and skill in the development and construction.  This has been a tremendous blessing to New Generation Church.

Our first home baptism takes place on the first day of our 2011 Conference - "Standard of a Champion" on the 19th August at 6.30pm, where many will be baptised and join the NGC family.  Click here to view the working progress.

Join us in celebration!

Charity Walk 2011

posted 1 Jul 2011 04:07 by The New Generation Church Nottingham   [ updated 4 Jul 2011 06:13 ]

After weeks of scouting local businesses, family and friends for sponsors, pledges and donations, the day finally came.  It was forecasted to rain, but we decided the evening before, that the walk would go ahead come rain or shine.  The magnificent seven started out from Mapperley Top and took the popular off-road route towards Lambley.  The day was beautiful;  sun, blue skies, and a light breeze prevailed.  The walk was challenging with scenic views, many a style to climb over and blazing a trail through bramble and nettles, not for the faint-hearted.

We kept up a steady pace throughout to complete the walk in four hours, shaving one hour off the target time of five hours.  We raised £922 and would like to thank all those who sponsored us and gave donations.  As promised 10% will be going towards the Japanese Earthquake Fund.

Good Friday Baptism

posted 24 Apr 2011 13:34 by The New Generation Church Nottingham   [ updated 24 Apr 2011 13:49 ]

Our first Baptism of 2011 was held on Good Friday at 1pm.  We started with six candidates and finished with seven being baptised.  As usual with NGC wherever we go there is never enough space, for all the visitors and members, but we managed to cater for everyone with an amazing team working in unison.

Reverend Sharon Lewis-Gordon hosted the service, Praise & Worship and the musicians kept us on our feet, Minister Nathan Lewis-Gordon delivered the message and Pastor Samuel with Deacon Lewis-Gordon carried out the water baptism.

God is in everything we do and we are reaping the benefits.  NGC is growing at an alarming rate and we have taken up the Mantel to bring souls into the Kingdom and to look after them once they arrive.

Click here to view the slide show of the event.

Thank you Lord!
